A vibrant & versatile floral pattern inspired by the colorful radiance of Venetian glass.

 

Stranded flower motifs gleam on a polychrome intarsia background; each flower motif offers an opportunity to try a new combination of colors.

The chart can be used to make a variety of projects, from a square or rectangular cushion or pillow cover, to larger items like a shawl, or a blanket, or afghan.

 

The swatch shown to the right was knit with four repeats of the chart on 3.5mm/US4 needles with approximately 78g/360yds/330m of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift in lots of colors.

Dimensions of swatch: 19.5ins/50cm square

Gauge: approximately 21sts and 25 rows = 4ins/10cm in intarsia knitting

 

Techniques include simple lace stitches, multicolored intarsia with 22 colors per row, stranding, trapping and splicing.

 

The pdf includes a chart, notes, photos, and phototutorials on splicing and weaving in ends.
