This dramatic asymmetrical pattern of large stripy feathers is named after the Merlin, a type of Falcon.

The sample was knit on 5mm/US8 needles with approximately 200g/1000yds/900m of Icelandic Laceweight yarn,
i.e. 100g/500yds/450m each of color A  and color B.
Color A: partial balls of red, wine, navy & dark green.
Color B: light grey & light blue.

Dimensions after blocking: a 77in/196cm by 28in/72cm parallelogram.
The cast on edge is pointy, the bound off edge is flat.
