This dramatic asymmetrical pattern of large stripy feathers is named after the Merlin, a type of Falcon.

 

Knit on 5mm/US8 needles with approximately 200g/1000yds/900m of Icelandic Laceweight yarn, 100g/500yds/450m each of color A (red, wine, navy & dark green) and color B (light grey & light blue).

 

Dimensions after blocking: a 77in/196cm by 28in/72cm parallelogram. The cast on edge is pointy, the bound off edge is flat.

Gauge: approximately 20 stitches & 17 rows = 4ins/10cm in lace pattern.
